Henry Maske ambassador for StaplerCup hilft e.V.

StaplerCup hilft e.V. to dedicate charity tombola proceeds at the 10th Forklift Cup to the Henry Maske foundation „A Place for Kids“

Henry Maske, World Light Heavyweight Boxing Champion from 1993 to 1996 and one of the world’s most successful and Germany’s most popular sportsman, will this year become the ambassador for the association StaplerCup hilft e.V. This non-profit making organization was founded in 2008 to present e.g. charity campaigns to spectators at the annual forklift drivers championships taking place in late September in Aschaffenburg.

Since setting up the foundation “Henry Maske Stiftung – A Place for Kids”, Maske for many years now has been sharing the good fortune he has gained from a successful career by endeavoring to provide disadvantaged children and young persons in Germany above all with prospects in addition to an encouraging environment where they can live without violence. “We want to promote the development of affected children, build up their characters, give them the opportunity to contribute,” answered Maske when asked to explain his commitment.

Henry Maske "A Place for Kids"

Since “A Place for Kids” was founded, about 130 child-care programs, sports and recreational projects, and training measures have enjoyed the assistance and support of the Henry Maske Stiftung. In 2008, it shifted its promotion priorities to its own project, “PerspektivFabrik” in Brandenburg, its largest to date. This offers children and young persons from all over Germany a vacation stay free of charge. The first vacationers at the “PerspektivFabrik” in 2010 were 360 needy children who spent their summer or fall vacation there. In 2012, the number had already grown to 600 vacation guests from all parts of Germany. Now the offers also include Easter vacations. The Henry Maske Stiftung could then set itself the goal of welcoming 800 vacation guests this year.

The Forklift Cup, the forklift drivers’ championships, will be held for the tenth time in 2014. In the nine years since the first event, over 16,000 drivers alone in Germany have taken their starting positions to the cheers of nearly 100,000 spectators. This 10th anniversary will also see the first World Forklift Driving Championship contested in addition to the German Championship, the Company Team Championship, and an International Team Championship. Between September 18 and 20, about 150 top-ranking forklift drivers from all over the world will be expected on the Aschaffenburg Schlossplatz.

In his capacity as this year’s ambassador for StaplerCup hilft e.V., Henry Maske intends to utilize his whole sporting experience to the full on Saturday, September 2014 (10.30 pm). At his first try on a forklift truck, he wants to collect early points for the Celebrity Cup, that will take part in the Forklift Cup Arena later in the day. The greater the number of points collected, the higher the sum StaplerCup hilft e.V. will be donating. And we know that Maske was highly successful in collecting points in the ring as well …

Maske will also be signing authographs and selling fortunes for the Charity-Tombola of StaplerCup hilft e.V.
